Remembering "Rick" with Love... C. Richard "Rick" Slabach, 61, of 68 Oriole Drive , Stevens, Lancaster County , died unexpectedly Friday, March 3, 2006, in his home of natural causes. Born March 22, 1944, in West Reading, Berks County , he was a son of the late Charles A. Slabach and the late Fern E. (Stoltz) Slabach, and was the husband of Donna J. (Piety) Slabach for 31 years. A member of St. Paul 's Evangelical Lutheran Church , Adamstown, he was a 1962 graduate of Cocalico High School , and was a Vietnam War army veteran. Rick was an avid sportsman having held the Cocalico most points scored in a basketball game record for years, 1962 MVP of the American Legion All East East-West baseball games, played with the Spartansburg minor league baseball Phillie's, played for the Adamstown "Hatters" in the Lebanon Valley League and coached various local baseball, softball and girl's basketball teams. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Patricia L. "Trish" (Slabach), wife of Todd M. Lukas, Marlton , NJ ; a son, Charles R., Jr., husband of Angel (Galloway) Slabach, Annville; 3 grandchildren, Logan, Nathan and Samuel; and a sister, Jane C. (Slabach), wife of Albert Blough, Lititz, PA. Viewing Funeral Service...A celebration of Rick's life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 2:00 PM from Good Funeral Home Cremation Centre, Inc. of Reamstown. There will be no viewing, however, the family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Private inurnment in Cedar Grove Cemetery , Adamstown , PA. The family requests that flowers not be sent.
