Remembering Christine with Love... Christine Marie Lemieux, Ph.D., 66, died Nov. 19, 2007, in her Spring Township home following a lengthy illness. Born in Annapolis , MD , a daughter of Claude P. and Doris L. (Bredbach) Lemieux, she is survived by her husband of 25 years, Wallace R. Clark, and her beloved Australian Shepherd, "Buddy." She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church , Wyomissing. Christine devoted much of her professional life to the subject of death and dying, with extensive involvement in research, fieldwork, classroom instruction, educational programs for healthcare professionals, hospice trainings and private counseling. She attended Goucher College , Baltimore , MD ; earned her B. S. degree at Penn State University , State College , PA ; and was awarded her masters and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Pennsylvania , Philadelphia , PA. Briefly a faculty member at Western Illinois University , she was a professor of Anthropology for 34 years at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, where she developed the University's courses in the area of death, dying and bereavement, retiring in 2005 due to illness. A recipient of numerous academic and teaching awards, she maintained many professional affiliations including Phi Beta Kappa (national academic honor society), Alpha Kappa Delta (national sociology honor society), and Phi Sigma Iota (national romance language honor society). Dr. Lemieux authored over 75 professional papers and lectures, also three books including the nationally acclaimed "Coping With The Loss Of A Pet." Private Service... Services will be private.
