Francine M. Dounelis

Francine M. Dounelis, age 71, of Ephrata, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Thursday, June 9, 2016, at 5:40 PM in Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Ragusa) Pepe, she was the wife of Philip H. Dounelis for 52 years. An active member of Evangel Assembly of God, Ephrata, she was the church hospitality food coordinator, and sang in the choir. Francine loved cooking, crocheting and cherished her family. Formerly of Long Island, New York, she was a 1961 Hicksville High School graduate, ran ministries Bible studies from her home, and worked as an optician with Davis Optical. Also surviving are sons, Philip H., married to Gina (LaBarca) Dounelis, Jr., Scottsdale, Arizona; Christopher P. Dounelis, Deer Park, New York;and Niko J., married to Erin (Staples) Dounelis, Coram, New York; and her grandchildren, Christian, Hannah, Jonathan, Caden Colten. Siblings Marian Weyde Richard Pepe predeceased her. Viewings will be held on Friday, June 17, from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday, June 18, from 1 to 2 PM, with Pastor Kevin Sylvester officiating at the funeral starting at 2 PM; all from Good Funeral Home, Reamstown..
