Joan L. Miller, 90, of Ephrata, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 in Ephrata Manor. Born in Myerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Catherine (Englehart) Andrews and the wife of 56 years to Carl R. Miller until his passing in Nov. 2007. Joan was a graduate of Myerstown High School, class of 1947. She worked as an inspector for Marco Electronics in Wormelsdorf and then at the former Hutter's convenience store in Lebanon. Joan enjoyed her job at Hutter's, visiting with customers who came in for lunch while she made sandwiches. Most recently, she was a 7-year resident of Groves Assisted Living in Ephrata. She enjoyed yard work and gardening, doing puzzles, playing bingo, and reading James Cameron novels. Joan was a Phillies baseball fan; she once knew all the players and team stats. She was always close to her family, particularly her sisters. Joan had a fun, firecracker manner; she was determined and well-liked by those who met her. Joan is survived by a daughter, Linda J. Schmitt & her husband Gregory of Ephrata; a son, Michael R. Miller & his wife, Dreama of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Connie L. Sholley & James G. Schmitt; four great grandchildren, Ryan & Megan Sholley and William & Samuel Schmitt; a brother, Richard Andrews in Myerstown; & sister, Shirley Ressler in MA. She was predeceased by five siblings, Jeanette (Emma) Hitz, Nancy Leaman, Betty Miller, William Andrews, Robert Andrews. Joan's final resting place will be with her husband in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa. Arrangements by Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., Reamstown, Pa.
