Larry T. Eckenroth, 62, of Denver, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia. Born in Ephrata, he was a son of the late Ralph E., Sr. and Betty L. (Epler) Eckenroth and the devoted husband to Melody Jo (Fasnacht) Eckenroth. Larry grew up in Lauschtown, a graduate of Garden Spot High School, class of 1979. Most recently, Larry worked as a driver for the Garden Spot Auto Auction in Ephrata. He also worked at NAPA in Denver, as a forklift operator for Mark Line, at High Concrete for many years, and Skyline Trailers. Larry was an avid outdoorsman and deer hunter. He loved trips to the hunting camps in Potter, Tioga, and Sullivan Counties. He was a member of the Cocalico Sportsman Association, enjoyed drag racing and NASCAR. In recent years, Larry's favorite thing in life was his role as Pop Pop. He adored his grandchildren. Larry was a big kid at heart, ensuring the freezer was stacked full of Cool Pop snacks. To be picked-on by Larry was to be loved; he had a super fun sense of humor and a contagious laugh. Though rooting for the Cowboys was no joke! (unfortunately) Nicknames were a favorite, Yard Bird, BonBon, Big Boy, Giant Horse, Bad Larry, and the list goes on and on. He loved his pups; he had rescued several. Larry was unique, unfiltered, and sometimes a real S.O.B., but the love he had for his family was unwavering and unstoppable. In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by three children, Ashley (Michelle) Heimbach of Newmanstown, August Schmuck of Denver, and Steven (Jennifer) Heimbach of Denver; five granddaughters, Paige, Melody, Autumn, Addisyn, & Kaylee; a great grandson, Ryder; Three siblings, Judy (Larry) Light of Ephrata, Marilyn (Kevin) Todd of Lititz, and Kenneth Eckenroth.
