Leroy D. Berger, 74, formerly of Stevens, passed away on June 29, 2025, at Reading Hospital. He was born on January 25, 1951, in Reading, and was the loving son of his mother, Cora E. (Berger) and stepfather Earl E. Dippner.

Leroy was an alumnus of Lampeter-Strasburg High School, graduating in the class of 1971 had a notable career as a maintenance technician for Cocalico Biologicals Inc., where he worked from 1987 until his retirement in 2014. His commitment to excellence in his work was mirrored in his passion for serving others in various capacities throughout his life. Leroy's contributions to his community were immeasurable; he served as a fireman for the Strasburg Fire Company and was an active member of the Lancaster County Fireman's Association. He also held membership roles at both the Strasburg and Cocalico Jaycees and the former president of the East Cocalico Lions Club. A dedicated member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Leroy took pride in his roles as an usher and bell ringer and was a vital member of the cemetery board. His spirit of service extended beyond his church and community activities; within the Hickory House Nursing Home, where he resided, he was affectionately known as the “Mayor” due to his warm nature, sense of community, and genuine affection for those around him. In addition to his professional and community endeavors, Leroy found joy in the companionship of his three beloved cats and cherished Fridays spent at Green Dragon. Leroy was also a member of the Muddy Creek bowling team and loved to support his favorite Philadelphia teams, the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. His vibrant personality and loving heart made him a pillar of strength and affection for those lucky enough to know him.

Leroy is survived by two aunts, Debbie Berger and Clara Bomberger, as well as many cousins who will miss him dearly. Along with his parents, Leroy is predeceased by a half-sister, Sharlene Y. Dippner.

The viewing will take place on July 9, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on July 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., located at 34-38 N. Reamstown Road, Reamstown, PA 17567. The funeral service will follow on July 10, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM at the same location.
