Charles Bealer

Charles W. Bealer, Jr., 80, of Sinking Spring, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Born in Adamstown, he was the son of the late Charles W. Sr. and Erma M. (Brendle) Bealer and the loving husband to Nancy L. (Weik) Bealer for 58 years. Charlie was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, class of 1959. He was known as "Billy" to his family and childhood friends. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was proud to serve his country during the Vietnam conflict. Charlie was employed for 34-years, retiring in 2001 as a lineman leader for the former Metropolitan Edison Co. in Reading. Charlie was a longtime member of Wyomissing UCC Church in Gouglersville. He was also involved with the Lodge #62 F.&A.M. of Reading, Gouglersville Fire Company, Pennwyn Motor Assoc., Ocean City Fraternal Order of the Elks #2645, & East Sussex Delaware Moose Lodge #2542. Once an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Charlie also enjoyed telling his life stories, his sharp mind enabled him to give great detail and animation to every experience he shared. He loved traveling with Nancy and spending winters in Marco Island. Charlie enjoyed sports, he was a Phillies fan, and attended as many of his grandsons' sporting events as possible. Family was most important to Charlie; he treasured the special relationships he had with each of his grandsons. In addition to his wife, Charlie is survived by two children, Sherrie R., wife of Kevin M. Taylor of Brecknock Twp. and Michael S.Bealer of Wilmington, NC; and three grandsons, Dalton Bealer, Brandon Taylor, & Dillon Taylor. Charlie was predeceased by daughter in law, Rosalia Bealer. A viewing will be held on Mon., Feb. 28th from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Wyomissing UCC Church, 2 Vermont Rd., Sinking Spring, Pa 19608, and the funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Mellinger's Cemetery in Schoeneck.
