Chester F. Martzall, age 88, of Ephrata, Lancaster County, PA, formerly of Adamstown & Florence, AZ, died July 3, 2013, in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Denver, PA, a son of the late Samuel M. and Stella R. (Fisher) Martzall, his wife of 65 years, Virginia S. (Stevens) Martzall, died November 4, 2012. Chester was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Adamstown VFW. He was a self-employed painting contractor and manager and clerk of the former Adamstown State Store. Surviving is a daughter, Mary A. (David) Weaver, Ephrata; sons, Barry L. (Anne) Martzall & Samuel C. Martzall, both of AZ; Gerald L. (Elizabeth) Martzall, TN; and Terry A. (Teresa) Martzall, Lititz; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Alvin F. Martzall, Akron; and Harlan F. (Dorothy) Martzall, Reinholds. A sister, Kathryn Stahley and brother, Ellis Martzall, predeceased him. A memorial celebration of Chester's life will be held Saturday, July 13, at 11:00 AM from Akron Church of the Brethren, 613 Main St., Akron, PA 17501, with visitation from 10-11 AM. Pastor Tom Weber will officiate. Private inurnment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
