Clair Dunkelberger

Clair W. Dunkelberger, 80, of Myerstown, formerly of Gouglersville, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at home with his family by his side. Born in East Cocalico Twp, Clair was a son of the late Earl R. & Margaret M. (Hartman) Dunkelberger and the loving husband of 55-years to Sarah J. (Blimline) Dunkelberger, until her passing in 2018. Clair was the owner operator of 'Jim's Body Shop' in Reamstown for many years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to Cabin Creek, MD where he kept his boat. He shared his love of fishing with his wife and grandchildren, making memories with every cast. Clair was a former volunteer fireman for the Gouglersville and Reamstown fire companies and received Fireman-of-the-Year at Gouglersville in 2000. He was dedicated to his service as a fireman and would close his shop immediately for a fire call. He enjoyed music, old cars, and being Grandpa. Clair was selfless, always willing to help others. Clair is survived by a daughter, Lisa M. Zimmerman (Raymond Jr.) of Myerstown; two grandsons, Chad Zimmerman (Kris) and Cory Zimmerman (Stefanie); five great-grandchildren, Mallory, Michael, Riley, Cameron, & Bronson; a brother, Ernest R. Dunkelberger (Shirley) of Denver; and a sister, Jean M. Shober of Kansas. Clair is predeceased by siblings, James E. Dunkelberger and Alma E. Adair. A viewing will be held on Mon., Feb. 20th from 10 to 11 a.m. at Good Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc., 34 N. Reamstown Rd., Reamstown (Stevens), Pa.
