Remembering Edwin with Love... Edwin S. Beck, Sr., age 95, formerly of Ephrata and Adamstown, died Saturday, September 5, 2009, in the Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon. Born in Naperville, he was a son of the late James and Edith (Myers) Beck. His wife of 73 years, Wilda M. (Faust) Beck died August 8th. An employee of Hope Hosiery Mill, Adamstown, he also worked with his wife in various cleaning jobs in the area. A member of Muddy Creek Lutheran Church, Swartzville, he loved tinkering in his garden. Surviving is a daughter, Janet K. (Charles W.) Frantz, Terre Hill; sons, Edwin S. (Mary White) Beck, Jr., Denver, and Russell L. (Nancy Yohn) Beck, New Holland; daughter-in-law, Jeannette (Stover) Beck, Ephrata; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; a half-brother, John Gangaway, and half-sister, Mary Miller. He was predeceased by a son James E. Beck and grandson, Russell Beck, Jr. Viewings Funeral Service... Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 10:00 AM from Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11 South Muddy Creek Road, Denver PA 17517, with his pastor, The Reverend Paul W. Smeltz, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring, PA. A viewing will be held on Wedesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home and at the church Thursday one hour prior to the service.
