Gladys H. Zimmerman

Gladys H. Zimmerman, age 84, of Brecknock Township, Denver, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 7:40 PM in United Zion Retirement Community, Lititz. Born in Clay Township, a daughter of the late Harry and Minerva (Sweigart) Holsinger, and step-mother, Barbara (Leinert) Holsinger, she was married 63 years to Warren H. Zimmerman. Gladys was a member, bookkeeper and longtime song leader of Hahnstown United Zion Church and a Hempfield High School graduate. She was a market stand clerk for S. Clyde Weaver, Brecknock Elementary School playground supervisor and last worked in the mail room at Conestoga Wood Specialties. Gladys loved sewing, gardening, reading, puzzles and attending auctions. Also surviving are her children, Debbie L., married to Gene Lynch, Stevens; Joyce E., married to Dale Youndt, Denver; and Kevin E., married to Liza (Bucag) Zimmerman, Denver; 8 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and brothers, John, married to Janice Holsinger, and Dan Holsinger married to Rick Himmelright. Gladys was predeceased by siblings, Lois Booth, Betty Martin, Kenneth and Philip Holsinger. The funeral will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018,at 11 AM from Hahnstown United Zion Church, 900 Glenwood Drive, Ephrata, PA 17522, with Rev. John Leiseyand Rev. John Fry officiating. The viewings will also be from the church on Thursday 5-8 PM and Friday 10-11 AM.
