Harriet L. Stoltzfus

Harriet L. Stoltzfus, 83, of Ephrata, passed away late Saturday night, May 11, 2024, at Keystone Villa. Born in Ephrata, Harriet was a daughter to the late W. John and Thelma Jane (Kilhefner) Horst and the loving wife to Jay A. Stoltzfus for 44 years.

Harriet was a graduate of Ephrata High School, class of 1958. She worked in banking and for 17 years she was a Clearing House Clerk for the Ephrata National Bank and retired in 2003. Prior to her banking career, Harriet also worked for 17 years at Gehman’s Jewelers in Ephrata. Caring for her family and being a mother and grandmother were most important to her. She will be remembered for her deep love of family. Harriet was rooted in her faith and was a member of Mellinger's Lutheran Church in Schoeneck where she was a faithful member and volunteered on the Pastor’s Committee and Church Council.

In addition to her husband, Harriet is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. Hainley of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Cathy L. Hainley (Beth) of Lititz and Sherri L. Furman (Malcom) of Newville; four stepchildren, Jay L. Stoltzfus (Kim) of Horseheads, NY, Kimberly J. Becker, San Diego, CA, Kelly K. Lluveras (Ramon), Riverside, FL, and Michael E. Stoltzfus (Angela) of Huntington, WV; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; a sister, Theda J. Raffauf (Richard); two step-brothers, Matt (Franci) DeLong and Dan DeLong, and a niece. Harriet was predeceased by a brother, W. John Horst Jr. and a stepson-in-law James Becker.

A funeral service will be held on Tues., May 21st at 12:00 p.m. in Mellinger's Lutheran Church, 80 Gockley Rd, Stevens, PA 17578. A visitation will be held prior from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mellinger's Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Suzanne H. Arnold Center for Breast Health or to Lutheran Camping Corporation of Central PA and include "Camp Nawakwa" in the memo.
