Merla I. Lorah, age 93, formerly of Reamstown, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died at Garden Spot Village, New Holland, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at 1:45 PM. Born in Schoeneck, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Alvin and Edith (Weik) Steely, her husband, Robert E. "Patty" Lorah, died February 9, 1990. An active member of St. Paul"s Evangelical Congregational Church, Reamstown, she supported missionary work and was a Sunday school teacher. Merla worked for Cinderella Knitting Mills for 29 years and loved flowers, plants, cooking, reading & music. Her memberships included Ephrata Women"s Connection and Friendly Circle. Surviving are her sons, Ronald E. (Romaine Shober) Lorah, Melbourne, FL; & Ray L. (Jean) Lorah, West Chester; grandchildren, Nadene Beck, Michael, Scott & Zachary Lorah; 6 great-grandchildren; & a sister, Helen Hirneisen. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 2 PM from St. Paul"s E. C. Church, 46 E. Church St., Reamstown, PA 17567, with her pastor, The Rev. Kirk R. Marks, officiating. Burial will follow in Steinmetz Cemetery, Denver. There will be a viewing on Saturday from 1-2 pm at church.
