S. James Wilker, 77, of Denver, passed away Friday, February 25. Born in Altoona, he was one of five born to the late Sylvester J. and Eleanor (Poremsky) Wilker. Jim grew up in Hollidaysburg and was a graduate of Villanova University. For over 30-years he was an Electrical Engineer for the former Penelec, now First Energy. He was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching golf. He was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease many years ago. Despite the daily pain and symptoms, Jim overcame his circumstances to work hard at jobsites and be an active, caring father. Jim is survived by five children, Nathanial (Heather) Wilker of York, Johnathan (Kim) Wilker of York, Melissa (Troy) Snyder of Sinking Spring, Amanda (Derek) Jahn of Ephrata, & Heather (Daniel) Thompson of Denver; 11 grandchildren, Elliot, Nicholas, Blake, Allison, Abby, Emma, Madalynn, Avery, Benjamin, Alayna and Alex; a stepson Corey (Amy) Moore of Johnstown; two sisters, and his former wife, Karen (Moore) Taleff. Jim was predeceased by two sisters. Services will be private and interment will be in the New St. Mary's Cemetery in Hollidaysburg.
